Ares Vista: Can Filesharing Be Policed?
Ares Vista is a powerful P2P file sharing program that allows users to publish files through the Ares peer to peer network. Users can share digital files including audio, video, images, software and more. Since Ares has caught on widely all across the globe, even Britain%u2019s police agencies have shown their support for file sharers. The entertainment industry has all along pressurized the UK government on ways to impose a ban on file sharing and P2P. Even Nicolas Sarkozy is having a fair share of heartburn on this issue in France.

If this proposal were to come to pass, ISPs would technically have to become online copyright police, while the government had the right to block access to download sites, restrict broadband connections, and deny access to repeat offenders. Those who do not tow the line would receive two warnings and were then liable for disconnection of their Internet services. With the law being implemented in France, it is now left to be seen if the Sarkozy administration looks after the interest of the French people or the entertainment industry bigwigs like EMI, Sony Music, Time Warner, among others, that the law was originally designed to protect.

Lord Peter Mandelson%u2019s efforts to implement the scheme in the UK have drawn enough flak from everyone including Britain%u2019s police agencies. According to Times Online, police and intelligence services said that it would be harder to track criminals online, if persistent internet pirates were punished with temporary suspension of their internet connections. Police and security services fear the worst as they feel that pirates will turn to encryption due to the fear of being detected.

UK Law enforcement groups such as the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (Soca) and the Metropolitan Police%u2019s e-crime unit fear increased costs for those that need to monitor Internet traffic due to encryption. It will also increase the workloads of the enforcement agencies considerably. Britain%u2019s MI5 and MI6 are also not in favor such disconnections. ISPs on the other hand are also not keen on retaining the power to block pirate websites or alter connection speeds: this simply gives them more work to do. The main thing is that files sharing cannot be policed and the government should look at alternative way to ensure that artists are fairly remunerated, rather than look for technology measures.

Ares Vista: Top Of The Pile?

One of the top filesharing applications -- and potentially the one causing the most headaches like this -- is Ares Vista. Since its recent remodelling and re-release, Ares Vista (www.AresVista.com) has enjoyed a record number of downloads from new Ares users. Why? Because where people were previously unable to figure out how download software worked, they can now jump in and start downloading with ease.

You can download ares at this site: it's easy. A nice alternative is this ares download site which seems to have the same files available.
